It happens to all of us. We get so wrapped up in a project that we forget to do things like eat, go to sleep, etc. Did you know that Google has an app that can help you with that? Read more for tips to help you use Google Calendar to help jog your memory when you have important tasks.

The first weapon of attack is the calendar itself. You can just put the task on the calendar. Once you have put the task on your calendar, you can set a reminder for yourself. You can have an email reminder sent to you or the reminder will get sent as a pop up on your computer screen at the designated time. The way I use this is that I put the deadline for my big tasks here on the calendar. I like to break my big tasks down into smaller ones that will help me get the big one done. So a big task might be something like “Submit 5 articles today” while a small one might be “Submit Article #1”. This is important because it helps me pace myself throughout the day. The calendar also allows you to color code certain things. You could have one color be for business reminders and one color be for personal reminders.

The other thing on the calendar that you can use to help you stay on task is the appropriately named task function. Once you’ve set the reminder for the big project, you can use this function to help you remember all of the mini milestones that go along with accomplishing that task.

Even though it is important to stay on top of your business, you need to remember not to neglect your personal life. Use the tips I’ve mentioned in this article to help you maintain a proper balance between the two.
